2015 SA Country Championship Results - Day 4
Finally sunny conditions greeted the team for the preliminary session on the final day of the 2015 Country Championships. Luckily the overcast conditions on the previous three days didn’t drop any rain on the proceedings. The team didn’t waste any time making the most of the warmer conditions either with the first event being the 50m Breaststroke with all the swimmers competing in the event making it through to the finals. Georgie had an impressive heat swim being the fastest qualifier.
The events that were contested on the final day were the 50m Breaststroke, 100m Freestyle, 100m Butterfly, 200 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke and the 400IM.
The swim of the day would have to go to Will Campbell for his swim in the 100m Butterfly final. Will qualified 5th fastest for the 11&U final. For the first 50m Will and the swimmer in lane 5 were equal first and nothing separated them as the approached the 75m mark. Will dug deep and found some extra speed and slowly pulled in front and finished on a full stroke, half a body length in front. The crowd went made and I could see some tears rolling down the checks of his parents. Well done shark, a fantastic result.

The Olympic Games are a once every four years opportunity for athletes to compete against the best in the world on a stage like no other, inspiring the next generation of children to 'have a crack' and get involved in swimming. To help clubs capitalise on the increased exposure for swimming during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Swimming Australia and the State Associations have developed the "Dive Right In" campaign. Dive Right In will help clubs offer newcomers the chance to take part in club activities and fully immerse themselves in the club experience.
