Treo off to State Championships
Three Broken Hill Aquatic swimmers are off to Adelaide this week to compete in the South Australian Short Course Swimming Championships. The three girls Savannah Morris, Sienna Speechley and Jade Scott will be contesting 19 events between them over the four days of competition.
While most of the winter sportsman and woman have been training outdoors in the cold, the Broken Hill Aquatic swimmers have been training in the warmth of the indoor pool at the Broken Hill Regional Aquatic Centre. Their training in the lead up to the championships has been excellent with all three girls setting good times during recent time trials.
Steve Moore the clubs head coach has also headed down to Adelaide and will be assisting the girls on pool deck. He is excited by the progress the girls have made over the past month with improved technique in all strokes and is looking forward to seeing some really good results.
The club and its supporters wish the girls good luck and I look forward to reporting on their results next week.
GO STINGRAYS!

The Olympic Games are a once every four years opportunity for athletes to compete against the best in the world on a stage like no other, inspiring the next generation of children to 'have a crack' and get involved in swimming. To help clubs capitalise on the increased exposure for swimming during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Swimming Australia and the State Associations have developed the "Dive Right In" campaign. Dive Right In will help clubs offer newcomers the chance to take part in club activities and fully immerse themselves in the club experience.
